Keynote speech Prof.dr. Kees Koedijk, professor sustainable finance at Utrecht University
Setting the scene: Kees will provide an overview and reflect on key academic developments in sustainable finance as well as social developments. Both good stewardship and a more active approach to long-term investing will be discussed and his view on the role of institutional investors going forward.
Paneldiscussion: What role to play in this multipolar world?
Brave new pension world: what role to play and which choices to make as an institutional universal owner in the current multipolar landscape. Does the narrative of the directive power of capital change the world still hold? Should we focus on our own backyard and strategic autonomy for Europe or on the large financing gaps in Emerging Markets?
Paneldiscussion: moving beyond ‘tick the box’ within listed markets
The panel will dig into stewardship and effectiveness of other instruments in listed markets. How do you measure effectiveness? Why are more concentrated portfolios a good idea? How important is alignment of sustainability goals and ambition between asset owner and their asset managers?
